Summer Exits Mount at Dortmund and Bayern as Karetsas and Adeyemi Headline Confirmed Moves

Bundesliga

The two biggest clubs in Germany have been the most active sellers of the summer window, and the confirmed moves paint a picture of significant squad reshaping at both Bayern München and Borussia Dortmund.

Bayern’s headline departure is goalkeeper A. Nübel, who joined Beşiktaş on 7 July in a transfer, ending what had been a complicated situation for a player always likely to seek regular football elsewhere. Bayern have also allowed midfielder N. Aséko Nkili to move to Eintracht Frankfurt and shipped out L. Zvonarek to Estrela and Jonathan Asp Jensen to Deportivo La Coruña, all as transfers. More recently, A. Sieb departed for Los Angeles FC on 12 August. On the incoming side, Bayern have brought in Bara Ndiaye from Gambinos Stars — a transfer confirmed on 9 August. The overall pattern at the Allianz Arena is one of an extensive clearout of fringe players, with recruitment so far limited to that single confirmed arrival.

Dortmund’s business has been even more striking. The confirmed sale of K. Adeyemi to Barcelona — completed as a transfer in late July — is the standout deal of the German window so far. Losing a player of Adeyemi’s profile to a La Liga giant signals a challenging summer at the BVB. Alongside that, J. Brandt has left for Ajax on a free, S. Özcan has joined Beşiktaş on a free, and P. Aning has moved to Telstar, also as a free agent. William Cole Campbell left for SV Elversberg as a transfer in early July. To offset the exits, Dortmund have confirmed the signing of Belgian talent K. Karetsas from Genk — a transfer completed on 2 August — which will be seen as an exciting addition but one that cannot disguise the scale of outgoings.

La Liga

Barcelona are the only confirmed La Liga movers in the data. The arrival of K. Adeyemi from Dortmund suggests the Catalan club are adding pace and directness to their attack. No fee category beyond “Transfer” is recorded, so no figure can be attributed to the deal.

Eredivisie

Ajax have bolstered their midfield options by securing J. Brandt on a free agent deal from Dortmund, confirmed 30 July — a shrewd piece of business given Brandt’s Bundesliga experience. Lower down the Dutch pyramid, Telstar have picked up P. Aning on a free from Dortmund.

Süper Lig

Beşiktaş have had a productive window in terms of recruitment, landing both A. Nübel from Bayern on a transfer and S. Özcan from Dortmund as a free agent. Two arrivals from Germany’s biggest clubs gives the Istanbul side genuine quality on paper.

Segunda División / Lower Leagues

Among the less-heralded moves, Deportivo La Coruña have taken Jonathan Asp Jensen from Bayern on a transfer, while Estrela have signed L. Zvonarek, also from Bayern. Both deals reflect Bayern’s willingness to find exits for academy-level or peripheral players rather than retain them.
