Premier League

Saturday's Premier League action served up a standout performance from Chelsea, who dismantled Bournemouth 5-1 at home. It was a comprehensive victory that will send a statement to the rest of the division.

Arsenal beat Leeds 2-1. Ipswich also claimed a 2-1 home victory over Fulham, continuing to make their mark on the division. Brighton were comfortable winners on the road, defeating Sunderland 2-0, while Aston Villa and Brentford shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw. Manchester United and Tottenham also cancelled each other out, finishing 1-1.

Bundesliga

Friday and Saturday's Bundesliga fixtures produced the weekend's most jaw-dropping scoreline: RB Leipzig hammered Eintracht Frankfurt 6-0, a result that will leave serious questions hanging over Frankfurt heading into the international break. The Mainz-Leverkusen clash produced even more goals, with Bayer Leverkusen winning 4-3 at FSV Mainz 05 in a seven-goal encounter that surpassed Leipzig's six.

Bayern München were held to a 2-2 draw by FC Augsburg, a result that will raise eyebrows given the gulf normally expected between the sides. Hamburger SV claimed a fine away win, beating 1899 Hoffenheim 3-2. VfB Stuttgart won 2-0 at SC Paderborn 07, while Union Berlin secured a narrow 1-0 home victory over SV Elversberg. On Friday, Borussia Dortmund and Werder Bremen shared a 2-2 draw.

La Liga

Friday's La Liga programme featured Málaga and Espanyol drawing 1-1. On Saturday, Barcelona were dominant at home, sweeping aside Getafe 3-0. Real Madrid were more workmanlike but got the job done, edging past Villarreal 1-0. Atlético Madrid picked up a 2-1 win away at Alavés to round out a productive day for the big three.

Serie A

Inter continued to look formidable, cruising to a 3-0 home win over Parma, while Napoli matched that scoreline with a comfortable 3-0 defeat of Frosinone. The surprise of the Italian weekend came from Genoa, who beat Fiorentina 2-1 at home — a result that will sting Fiorentina, who will have expected more.

Ligue 1

Stade Brestois 29 beat Angers 5-1 in Saturday’s Ligue 1 action. Paris Saint-Germain did what was expected of them, beating Le Mans 3-1 at home. Lens had opened the weekend’s French football on Friday with a 2-1 victory over Lyon. Lorient beat Paris FC 1-0, Lille edged Le Havre by the same scoreline, and Monaco drew 2-2 with Toulouse.
